It is possible to prevent users from being able to install any application on their computer using the Group Policy Editor (not available in Windows 7 Home and Starter Editions) by following the steps below:

Step-1 Open the Group Policy Editor by typing gpedit.msc in the search field.

Step-2 Browse to Computer Configuration>Administrative templates>Windows Components>Windows Installer

Step-3 In the right panel, you can disable any applications from being installed by the user.
