How To Change The Default Installation Location

Typically, Windows will by default install application in the Program Files directory. However, it is possible to change the default installation location with the help of a simple trick:

Step-1 Open the Windows Registry.

Step-2 Browse to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Step-3 Double click on the value ProgramFilesDir in the right panel and change its value to any folder of your choice which you wish to make the default installation location.

Step-4 You may have to restart Windows for the changes to be implemented.
