Unfortunately, all folders on a Windows system appear as boring and plain yellow icon, it is quite easy to replace these cliché icons with snazzy looking icons by simply following the steps below:

Step-1 Create a text file with the following contents and save it as desktop.ini in the folder whose icon you wish to change:

[.ShellClassInfo]

ICONFILE=Path of the icon

Step-2 Similarly, it is possible to change the icon of a drive by creating a file with the following contents and saving it as autorun.inf in the root of the drive whose icon has to be changed

[Autorun]

ICON=Path of the icon

Step-3 It is always a good idea to change the attributes of this file to Read Only and Hidden to prevent any accidental damage.
